Naps is a baby care tracker for parents and caregivers. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it lives, and what your rights are. The short version: we show no ads, we sell no data, we track no one across other apps or websites, and deleting your account deletes your data.
Account data. When you create an account we store your email address (or, with Sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple provides — which may be a private-relay email). If you start as a guest, we store only an anonymous account identifier until you choose to link a sign-in method.
Baby care logs (the content you create). Baby profiles (name, birth date, home timezone), sleep sessions (including settling time, brief wakes, and optional context such as where and how your baby fell asleep), feeds, diaper changes, day plans, first-food records, growth measurements (weight and length), and household membership (which caregivers share a baby's log).
Usage and diagnostics data. Which screens and features are used, and app error/performance events, keyed to your account identifier. We use this to understand what helps parents and to keep the app stable. We use PostHog on its EU cloud for this — our own analytics instance, not an advertising network.
Purchase data. If you subscribe to Naps Plus, our subscription processor RevenueCat receives your purchase and subscription status from Apple. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card details.
What we do NOT collect: location, contacts, photos, messages, browsing history, advertising identifiers. The app requests no App Tracking Transparency permission because it does no tracking. Notifications are generated locally on your device; we run no push service.
Records about your baby's sleep, feeding, and growth are intimate family data. Although such logs are not formally medical records, we handle them to the standard of sensitive data under the GDPR: they are stored in the European Union, protected by per-household access rules (only caregivers you invite can see a baby's log), transmitted encrypted, and never used for advertising, profiling beyond the app's own features, or sale to anyone. The predictions and patterns Naps shows are computed from your own logs to serve you — nothing else.
These three providers are our processors. We have no other recipients. We do not sell or share personal data for advertising.
Your data is kept while your account exists so your history stays available (unlimited history is part of the product). Deleting your account deletes your data — account record, baby profiles, and all logs — from the production database, with residual copies leaving encrypted backups on their normal expiry cycle (at most 30 days). Analytics events are retained on our PostHog EU instance per its retention settings and are deleted on account-deletion requests.
Under the GDPR (and equivalent laws elsewhere) you can: access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, and take your data with you (portability).
If a household has two caregivers, each caregiver's account is their own; a baby's log is deleted when the last caregiver with access deletes it (leaving a household removes your access, not the other parent's data).
Naps is for adults — parents and caregivers. We do not knowingly collect data from children; the app stores data about your baby, entered by you, under your account and control, as described above.
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest with our providers. Access to a baby's log is enforced at the database level (row-level security) per household. Guest accounts get the same protections as signed-in accounts.
If this policy changes materially, we will say so in the app and update the date above. We will never quietly change it to permit ads, data sale, or tracking — those are product promises, not just policy text.
